If you've been watching the news lately than you might of heard of a girl name Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan. Her story started when she fought for girls rights to have an education in her home country. She published a blog on BBC's Urdu service stating her thoughts on this issue. On October 9, 2012 she was shot in the head by the Taliban aboard a school bus in Swat Valley, Pakistan. She is currently recovering in a hospital in London and making great progress. Recently she was able to stand with some help. Once the Taliban heard she was not dead they pledged to finish her off until she was. What kind of cruel people even think about hurting a girl who was simply standing up for her rights. It's horrific what they have done to her. Malala is such a strong girl and an inspiration to many of us. She represents true girl power because of her bravery to stand up for her rights in a country were the Taliban is present. In Pakistan and other countries like that, girls who play sports are looked down apon because it is thought of as a man's activity. Not so. Girls are no weaklings. We are strong and have every right to play sports and have an education. We will break the barriers that keep us from doing what we want. We'll show em what were made of.
